Watching our Holy Father...

...I am struck by his prayerfulness and humour and his ability to lead a great - vast, enormous - crowd of people in prayer with dignity and deep sincerity. This is a good man. This is a holy man.

And I love his choice of name. St Francis, pray for this good man who now takes on such a burden.

Papa, we love you and are with you.

I cried I cried I cried with joy!! What a beautiful Pope we have. The date 3-13-13. All the threes, maybe confirmation from The Trinity!!
Truly a Holy Man. Thanks be to God.

I love the name too. I've considered St. Francis of Assisi my personal patron saint. The more I read about this man, the more this seems like a very insprired pick. I wish he were younger, but other than that, no complaints. God bless our Holy Father.

Isn't he wonderful? I thought it was going to take me a while to warm up to a new papa, but he won my heart with his humility (and his choice of name). Yes, he's a good and holy man, and he'll need our prayers in the days ahead.

Sounds as if your trip to Poland was fruitful! Also, I'm looking forward to your new season of "Feasts & Seasons" on EWTN. Tried your fish pie recipe last Friday and it was very good, thank you!

What strikes me, in retrospect, is that if Pope Emeritus Benedict didnt do such a humble thing and renounce the Petrine ministry, we would have never had Pope Francis.

Im grateful for both of these humble men. And their putting the Church and our Lord first.

He reminds me of Pope John Paul I, whom everyone, sadly, seems to have forgotten. I seem to have read somewhere that John Paul I's motto was "Humilitas".
