Auntie...

...was invested as a Dame of St Gregory the Great yesterday (May 28th) by Archbishop Peter Smith  at St George's Cathedral Southwark.

The Mass was beautiful, celebrated by Mgr Keith Newton of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. Glorious music, with cantor Jeremy de Satge: a Missa de Angelis, with Panis Angelicus at Communion, and hymns including  Newman's "Firmly I believe" sung heartily by all the congregation...Fr Stephen Langridge preached.

Well you're not supposed to congratulate a bishop on his appointment. I don't know what the done thing is for a Dame.
But you've got a formal role now, as Defender of the Faith. You're very much needed.

Bravo, Auntie Joanna! You deserve it! And how lovely to see Jamie. God is so good to give you to us, especially in these trying times.

Congratulations again, Joanna, so well deserved. The Mass sounds wonderful, and your outfit looks great. Just so sorry not to have been able to be there.

Congratulations, Joanna!
Fr. Stephen preached....wow...sounds like you enjoyed a very special Mass for your devoted work in the name of our Lord and in support for our priests and clergy and not forgetting the Holy Father.
Well done you.

It was absolutely beautiful. It was my utter privilege to be there.

Fr Stephen spoke so beautifully of you, and every word was true (well I don't know about the 'no pergatory' speculation) as were Archbishop Peter's.

God bless you.

Hurrah for Auntie - is proud that I once welcomed you to weekday Mass in Colchester - had read you, but had no idea it was you -

My Dear Dame Joanna,

What can I say, that has not already been said?

"For she's a jolly good lady...."

What a richly deserved blessing!

Wonderful news Joanna, congratulations!

That will fire you up to be an even greater 'Defender of the Faith'.... (as if you needed this impetus! ;-))

Great pic of you and Jamie with the Archbishop. Glad to see Jamie has recovered from the challenging pilgrimage to Chartres. (I'm still recovering!)
