It's unfortunate that Cameron mentioned gay marriage as his main achievement. But it's just one blot on an otherwise pretty good record, and actually the alternative policy would also have carried risks, as it would have made the UK into an exception amongst Western states and an ideological battleground. Then we've got to remember that we sold that pass with divorce and remarriage. Whether a person in a gay marriage is in a better or worse spiritual state than the divorced and remarried I wouldn't like to say, but the latter are doing something explicitly condemned by Christ, in a very rare ruling on a matter of law, whilst homosexuality is never mentioned. It's almost certain that Jesus would have spoken against it as He taught and discussed for many hours and on many subjects, but it obviously wan't a hobby horse, and in fact no sayings have made it into the record.
