..."The Ordin-air-ree-ate" or "The Ordin-ah-ree-ate"?
Mostly, people seem to use the former. And is the latter a mite pretentious? Opinions?

Technicallly shouldn't it be
-erry-ut ? As in extraordin-erri-lee?
Admittedly it makes it sound a little too 'all creatures great and small' - "right you are mistuhr 'erriott" - but air and ar just don't sound right: 'Err' on caution [wink!]; at least air , but NEVER ar.
Ever since Anglicanorum Coetibus (and there's another pronunciation question for you) came out, I have using the latter, which makes me pretentious. No news there, then.
