Very unlikely. In fact the only reason I am looking at your blog is because I caught the headline on another blog and thought that it would be a good opportunity to make a sarcastic remark. Keep up the bad work Mrs Pollyanna. I feel guilty for having increased your traffic.

Anonymous,

I am praying on this Divine Mercy Sunday that our Lord will open your heart to the light of His love.

Sincerely,

..and I've published your Comment because it's a fairly typical example of the kind of sour thing that anonymous writers feel a need to send to me from time to time.

I don't usually publish them, but thought I would do so on this occasion because it can be helpful to think about this.

Although writing cross things makes you feel sort of powerful for a short while, it often leaves an empty feeling afterwards.

One tip: when you have found "a good opportunity to make a sarcastic remark", it's often helpful to wait for a little while, and consider other ways of using your time.

In the film "Pollyanna" to which you refer, the orphan heroine remembers her much-loved father teaching her about the number of times in the Bible that we are exhorted to rejoice and be glad. Together, they played the "glad game" of seeking to find cause for joy and gratitude even in bleak situations. Facing a grim new life among strangers, she holds to the message: it is a beautiful and joyful story in which the good and true triumphs, hard-hearted people are changed, friendships are forged and old enmities healed.

You are too kind Joanna, why are you bothering with the people who are not brave enough to display their name?

You are a Catholic writer of a Catholic blog. How would the anonymous type have been at Tyburn?
"I recant, I recant".

You couldn't make it up.
