After the wilderness years without good honest debate - mustn't upset anyone's feelings by saying something nasty - it's good to see a new wave of erudite young people writing about things that concern them. "The Monstrous Regiment of Women" is another great blog.
Your interview on "E.W.T.N. Bookmark" was very interesting, especially your comments about blogging.
Hi Joanna, Today in away you have let me down. I thought you would give a blog about Saint Patrick not about how he chased all the snakes out of Ireland but the real man behind the saint. As I would like to Know more.Joanna Happy Saint Patricks day to you,may the Lord be with you. Gods love Robert.
I just saw you on Channel 4 News and I'm afraid you just lost the church it might hope to gain. Your overly emotional - and loud - response allowed Jon Snow - no friend - to treat you like a madwoman.
Why couldn't you use whatthe Pope would use: reason. Those who criticise the church's stance on condoms are completely illogical. How do they explain the suggestion that a man can happilly and callously commit adultery but then meekly comply with the church over condom use: happy to commit the greater sin, but not the lesser.
Please try to make amends, because even I, a commited Catholic, had difficulty supporting your argument, especially because of the way you put it.
I believe or rather I hope you are apologetic about your appauling behaviour on Channel4 news this evening. If you ever want people to listen to your views and facts in the future it is best to stay calm and audible. You were just shouting and almost fighting those you were meant to be having a civil discussion with. Instead you were discursive. I doubt very much if that is what the Pope would have wanted in regards to his oppinion on Abstinence
I just saw you on the Channel 4 news. It seems that you do not have a clear understanding of cultural norms in Africa (which includes polygamy and macho behaviour by men in the face of hardship). Please please please try and re-think your views and do not impose them on innocent people. Please have a look at the evidence and reconsider your point of view. I am surprised that such a reputable broadcasting organisation can get away with giving air space to such dangerous ideas.Christopher Nicholas, London
Some years ago I read the most incredibly patronising op-ed in the Independent, explaining that African migrant workers can't be expected not to use prostitutes when away from their wives to work. I wondered whether the writer thought her husband couldn't be expected not to use prostitues when on work trips. Patronising bint. Grrrrr.

I was appalled to see your behaviour on channel 4 news, it was easily the worst display I have seen in many years of watching the programme.
You were hysterical and unwilling to listen to anything anyone had to say and embarrassed yourself, your beliefs and your cause.
People like you give religion a bad name.
Joanna

You were hilarious! x
Go on Anonymous Christopher Nicholas, tell me all about those "cultural norms" in Africa.
It's that brilliantly enlightened theory known as Black-men-can't-keep-it-in-their-pants, isn't it?
A question to all those who criticised Joanna's performance on C4: how much better did you do last time you were on C4?
Oh. I see. You never go on TV at all and leave it to others?
Well, bog off then.
I prefer her way of doing it to your way of not doing it all!
Thank you Red Maria!
