re that TV discussion: I think...
...that we'll leave it at that, now. I am touched by the kind messages that have been sent here. Thanks. If you want to send any further comments, why not send them direct to Jon Snow, who has a blog on the subject?
I just saw your TV clip...Well Done Brave Lady!!!!!! It was obvious that the host was trying to deter you, but by gestures, words and facial expressions, you persevered.
We love you and our Holy Father. We appreciate you standing up for our Faith and our Pope Benedict. It is unfortunate that you (and our Holy Father) have been attacked so viciously. Speaking up for justice is appropriate - whatever the voice level!
If you got angry - then rightly so. It is an important issue and you were being unjustly maligned by the so-called 'media moguls'. I don't understand why so many people think getting angry is the worst sin out there! For some reason, staying "cool and collected" is supposed to give one a superior position. But Jesus and the Church do not teach that idea. There are times and issues when anger is just and appropriate - especially when you are concerned not just over a 'political' or 'social' issue, but one that affects souls, which live for eternity. As a holy Priest once told us, anger can be a virtue - the virtue of Justice. When you express anger over an issue that is sinful (not just over the sinner), you are showing that you care for justice to be given, just as God does. Not that you condemn the person(s), but that what is being done/advocated is unjust or dishonest and needs God's light, truth, and correction. I am sure you have a good understanding of this already, and know the line between just and unjust anger. We just wanted to let you know we appreciate you and don't want to see you get too discouraged or 'beaten-down' by the nasty side.
God bless you and Mr. Bogle! Keep up the good work! We're watching you on EWTN this Lent, Isaac and family in the U.S.A.
I didn't see the interview, so it would not be fair to comment. Hoever, I have admires you for your courage for a long time now. You are fearless in bearing witness to the Catholic faith, and yes sometimes the wolves will attack. But please keep up the good work. My very best wishes, Renata
Joanna, you were brilliant! I only just got to watch on Fr Tim's blog and even living in Japan, I felt for you, being ambushed by those two slimy creatures.
But then again, it's the BBC, isn't it? Beelzebub Baal Communications so we shouldn't have expected less from them.
I take your point that it is time to end the discussion but I would like to add something which I hope you will think about. Many years ago I was a paasenger in a car driven by my aunt when we had the unpleasant experience of hitting a dog which ran out in front of the car; when I got out to look it had run off. On discussion both of us had a different memory of what had happened : I thought the dog came from the left, & my aunt thought it came from the right.Clearly one of us was wrong and though I was sure I had seen that the dog came from the left I was prepared to accept that as one of us had to be wrong it was just as likely to be me as my aunt. My aunt who was a very vehement sort of person, (ring any bells?) would not concede that she could possibly be wrong. The doctor who was interviewed with you was, I understand, the head of HIV services for Christian Aid, so this is her area of expertise. Can you honestly say it is yours?
This is a somewhat-related question, in that I wanted to ask about your upcoming new series of Summer Feasts and Seasons. (Related in the sense that it's about you being on TV, which I always thoroughly enjoy, by the way.)
I wanted to ask you how the taping went back in January for this new series, and also wanted to know if you have any idea when the Summer Feasts and Seasons episodes will be airing on EWTN -- even a rough estimate -- May? June?...
Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing you again on TV.
Well done Joanna!!! Rejoice , you are doing the Lord's work!!Thank God you had the courage to go into the lion's den. "If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. ... If they persecuted me, they will persecute you...but all this they will do to you on my account, because they do not know him who sent me."
Brava, Joanna! Your courageous defense of a culture of Life was inspiring amidst those who have drunk deeply from the poisoned wells of political correctness and who have embraced the death culture of this ghastly age. Leave aside any more thoughts of self-flagellation, what I saw in the interview was steely courage. Soldier on!
Well done Joanna. You were fearless and thank God you were. If only more were prepared to do as you did and defend the Church's point of view. But no, they would far rather criticise.
Dear Auntie Joanna: I'm only just now catching up on your blog and jumped over to Patrick Madrid's blog to see the interview. You were brilliant!!! And fearless!!! I am so impressed, you truly were a vessel for the Holy Spirit to work through. God bless you for all of the tireless work you do for our Pope and Our Lord! Thank you. catherine from Texas
I finally found your TV clip on Patrick Madrid's blog, thanks to someone else's comment. You were bold and courageous and held your own. I'm so proud of you. You have many cyber-friends, Joanna. Hold your head high. I will leave a comment on Snow's blog as well.
I only just saw the video (I seem to be a bit late on this one - I got the link from Fr. Tim Finigan's blog). I thought you did very well seeing as Mr. Snow seemed to have no intention of there being a balanced discussion. I must say that this young Catholic found your effort and words inspiring.

Greetings from America. I thought you did a fine job in a totally hostile circumstance.
Thank you.

Congratulations on the fine way in which you handled the whole thing.
I cannot think of too many others who could have equalled your splendid effort.

Joanna - you were brilliant. Thank God there are Catholics to defend the church, where the bishops look the other way.
God Bless
