Enjoy this Blog?
...want to read more? Then you might enjoy this link. It's an on-line magazine for which I write., with comments on topical events etc....
Thanks for the link Joanna; have added it to my Bookmarks for additional reading. The photo of people playing in the snow takes me back to the 50s and 60s when I was growing up. We did have less but we also knew how to enjoy oursleves. I think people then had a sense not just of family but also of communities and a sense of security, of certainty, of jobs, of authority, boundaries and guidelines, a way of being that is just not there these days and that for a lot of people today their values and life is built on shifting sands and without faith they don't have that bedrock of security and certainty any more.
Isn't is ironic, Joanna, that the children playing in the snow turned out to become supporters of the spirit of Vatican II and now seem to represent a deeply resented gerentocracy? Or at least they do for your ageing generation. What went wrong?
