A day in Parliament...

...and the urgent  need to get MPs to grasp the realities of the planned new law on genderless marriage.  A very decent MP said he wanted a genuine debate on the subject, and felt this take place once the Bill had been passed,. Uh? The time for a debate is BEFORE something becomes law, not afterwards!

The general message that emerged from one meeting today was "What's the rush?"  -  even people who were uncertain of their views on the whole thing, felt that this was being hurtled through the House of Commons in a quite bizarre way, with no proper time for debate and reflection and recognition of the huge changes that it will impose on society.

One of the very odd things about it is that many homosexual people (of whom I happen to be one) have not campaigned for this new legislation; infact many of us are very much against it. One supposes Mr Cameron is hetrosexual; so why is he pushing this nonsense through using the presumed agreement of the so-called "Gay Community". Not in my name Mr Prime Minister. William Weber

William, there's nothing odd about your observation. Lots of women didn't campaign for equal suffrage either but that didn't stop it from being an important civil rights issue, just as this is.

Because this has NOTHING to do with gay rights and everything to do with replacing a Christian ideology with a secular liberal ideology driven by UN desire for global world control. Just consider the adoption agency nonsense. No gay couple were unable to adopt but now the Catholic agencies are closed. What was that really about? Clearly not tolerance else Catholic and Secular agency could have continued to serve every aspect of society.
