From silence...

...Auntie made £400 in one day towards the cost of the Papal visit.

By remaining completely silent from 8 am to 8pm last Sunday, keeping vigil in St Joseph's Chapel in Westminster Cathedral, I raised this sum in donations - and more, still coming in from various sponsors. If you want to donate, you could do so here, just mentioning that you are sending a donation in connection with Auntie Joanna's 12-hour silence.

People thought I couldn't do it. But it was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.

Your comment about how difficult it is not to talk reminded me of myself in grade school. I must have driven everyone mad; but there was a prize offered one semester for straight A's, one graded category being Deportment. I was determined to win the prize and that was enough to keep me quiet in class for two and a half months!

I just read your profile and saw that you also have a list of wonderful priests whom you would recommend to the Holy Father to be ordained bishops. My "list" consists of only one, but he is so outstanding that there would be no argument.:)
