The Guardian for his recent poignant message to Europe at Strabourg, when he noted the continents tragic infertility and absence of new life. The writer, a self-styled Catholic Feminidst announces that this is an attack on grandmothers. I thought it was a spoof at first. No, I'm not giiving the link: some things are so daft it just isn't worth encouraging anyone to go there.
Oh thank goodness! I too thought it was a spoof, then I saw someone 'promoting'this article, which was almost an occasion of sin for me.
ReplyDeleteI suppose (not having read the piece to which you refer), that it's not really so ridiculous. After all, he was clearly being pejorative when he compared Europe to a grandmother. So it does seem a bit harsh on grandmothers!
