In the middle...

...of much family activity (see below) phone calls from TV and radio stations about the ridiculous, offensive, gross and vulgar rubbish produced in a Foreign Office memo about the Pope's visit. It is shaming to realise how low we have sunk as a nation: I suppose there have always been crude young men at the Foreign Office producing insolent material as a joke, but it is frightening that today such stuff gets taken seriously and circulated.

Sadly, America isn't far behind as it decends down the sewer pipe. Some commentators here think that certain radical groups, in order to perpetuate their particular agendas have a great deal to do with the media blitz, etc..., which hopefully do irrevocable damage to the Church. Yet, in over 2000 years of history the Church has always remained Christ's bride and will continue to be His bride.

The television, radio and media people know how to fling fat in the fire when they invite you to get involved. Resist, Joanna, resist for the sake of the Church. Remember the days when the Hebblethwaites and Sister Lavinia Byrne were called upon to make anti-papal comments on the radio? Minor media officials simply want you to act the role of Aunt Sally just to make matters worse.

Agreeing with the 1st Anonymous. America really isn't all that far behind.

Anti-Catholic sentiments sells, gets major attention, and stirs up deep emotions. It always has.

At least it's not apathy. I think that would be worse?
